Undergraduate Rhetoric Program
Ethnography of the University Initiative
Rhetoric participates in a campus-wide research-writing program supervised by the Department of Anthropology that pursues the uncovering of the history, life, and research of the campus community. Undergraduates have the opportunity in a Rhet EUI course to practice qualitative research techniques of interviewing, survey designing, textual analysis, and are trained in utilizing campus-based research archives, as well as entering and continuing the research of past EUI writers. EUI participants may choose to present their work at the EUI Student Conference held at the end of each semester and also publish their papers to the IDEALS website, a UIUC virtual space for archiving both faculty and student writing.
